Signature Minion [Minion]
One ability of your minions particularly strong.
Prerequisites: None
Benefit:
Choose a minion from a summoning spell or feature like animal companion, special mount or eidolon. Such creatures are known as signature minion. Name the creature. The minion is unique, multiple animal companions or summoning spells cast can not call the signature minion twice at the same time.
You can teach feats and attributes to the creature as if it had the Apprentice feat. You can also raise your minion's attributes up to match your own attribute values. If you take feats or features that increase your creature's base attributes, apply those increases last when calculating training costs. These bonus points count toward the maximum attribute values you can teach your minion. If you exceed your current spending limit while raising attributes through a feature, refund any overspent points.
If a signature minion is slain, you need to raise it with a special ritual that takes one hour and can be done once a game session.
Summoning: Whenever use the appropriate summoning ability, you may choose to call your minion. You can equip it with items wearable by the creature and will bring and use those items, when summoned by you in future. Also the DC of checks to dispel signature summons are increased by 2.
Upgrading: When you gain a similar feature of a higher level, you can choose to replace the minion to upgrade the signature minion to the better version. A upgraded minion retains the items, learned feats and attributes. E.g. Once you reach second level spells, a small fire elemental signature summon, could become a medium fire elemental summoned by summon medium fire elemental. However, a summoned cat cannot be replaced by summon snake. A horse could become a celestial horse or pegasus. Ask your DM if you are unsure.
Alternatively, you can also upgrade summoning spells by adding 2 levels of the pathfinder npc class and +2 to all attributes per raised spell level (you can omit raising attributes below 10 and increase other attribute up to two times per increase), e.g., a summoned hound archon (first level spell) raised to a third level spell could gain four pathfinder warrior levels and +4 on all attributes.
Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. You choose a new name and a new creature each time.
