Across The Dunes Of Arrakeen
The one who controls the spice, controls the universe.

Description: You've pinpointed the location of a legendary spice cache in the vast desert of Arrakeen. The spice, known for its mind-altering properties, lies buried beneath the sands, guarded by monstrous creatures. Your mission: retrieve the spice and make it safely across the dunes, before the storm shreds you to pieces.
- The challenge takes place on a 20x20 grid, with each square representing 1.5 meters. Characters start at (0,0) and must reach (21,21), where the entrance to the cave system is located.
- At the start of the challenge, the DM rolls 2d20 to determine the coordinates of the spice cache. The first roll represents the X coordinate, the second the Y coordinate. The cache is marked by a small, crystalline formation protruding from the sand, that can be found with an active DC 12 perception check.
- A perpetual sandstorm rages across the dunes, limiting visibility to 3 meters (2 squares) in all directions. This affects all visual-based checks and attacks beyond this range. The storm intensifies over time. Each round, all characters must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + number of rounds passed). Failure results in 1d4 damage taken. The DC and damage increase by 1 each round.
- Sand Walk: Characters can move stealthily across the sand at half their normal speed. Before moving each turn, a character can make either a Stealth or Survival check (player's choice) against DC 18. For each point the check falls below the DC, there's a 5% chance of triggering a Dust Digger ambush at your location. A successful check allows movement without risk.
- There is one Sand Worm per character. They remain dormant until either the spice cache is found or a Dust Digger attack is triggered. Use the standard stats from the Death Worm.
- There are three Dust Diggers per character hidden in the area. They can be triggered by failed Sand Walk checks. Use the standard stats from the Dust Diggers.
- Retrieving the Spice: Once located, a character must spend a standard action to dig out the spice box. This automatically awakens all dormant creatures.
- To complete the challenge, the characters must reach the ancient cave entrance to complete the challenge. They must also defeat all Sand Worms. Once in the cave, they are safe from the storm, but not the worms.
