Citizenship
Convince the council to make you a citizen
Requirements: Level 1
Description:
You need to convince the council to make you a citizen. Each member has a vote that can either be in favor or against. It is also possible to abstain. You need at least two more positive than negative votes. Members will vote against by default, but they are various ways to convince them, see below:
Lady Dawn. She does not have a vote by herself but is very influential. She is the first person to you meet in the city. If you impress her either by wearing noble clothing worth at least 75sp or by a performance check DC 15 she will help you. While she is not a member of the council directly, she can make one member of your choice to abstain.
Fredrik the huntsman. You can make him happy by hunting with him. You need to bring your own bow or crossbow for this. Though with a DC 15 diplomacy check he will give you his old shortbow as a gift. Make a survival check, a perception check and one attack roll with the weapon. If the sum is above 45 he will vote for you. If it is above 35 he will at least abstain. If you have the track feat, you get a +5 bonus on each of the survival checks.
Arcathas the scriptor. Due to sickness the scribes guild needs help. Make two linguistics checks and one knowledge history check. If the sum is above 45 he will vote for you. If it is above 35 he will at least abstain. Be careful though. Arcathas was rejected by the mages guild and is envious of any spell caster. If you use spells or other supernatural abilities at any point in the city, he will convince another member of the council to surprisingly vote against you.
Tjorben the builder. Hard work pays off, make three athletic or endurance checks. If they sum over 45 he will vote for you. If they sum over 35 he will at least abstain. That is if you are either a human, a dwarf or an elf. He is a racist other races will need to work their buts off, by making six skill checks and reach 120 (positive) or 100 (abstain) instead. Beastmen he hates in particular the best that can happen for them is abstain with DC 120.
Griswald the blacksmith. He is straightforward. Two craft checks involving metal and one endurance check. If they sum over 45 he will vote for you. If they sum over 35 he will at least abstain. Each feat, class or race feature that has smith, metal or steel in the name provide a +5 to the craft skill checks.
Wilibald the merchant. Make two appraise and one bluff or insight check to help him with his business. If the sum is above 45 he will vote for you. If it is above 35 he will at least abstain. He respects soldiers, the DCs are lowered by 10 points for characters with full base attack bonus.
Olfsan, owner of the tavern of the laughing sun. You need to cook, drink and bring out the trash. Make a profession cook check, a fortitude check against alcohol and an intimidate check. If the sum is above 45 he will vote for you. If it is above 35 he will at least abstain. Olfsan loves gossip. If you made one of the other members angry, tell him about it and his DCs are reduced by 5 points.
Lieutenant Jorl, captain of the guards. He will vote against scapegraces and in favor of everybody else. Scapegraces are characters without skill ranks in a profession or craft. The only exception are paladins, which he will vote for automatically.
