In the Chamber of Echoing Thoughts, reality bends to the will of the mind. Here, aspirants face phantasmal riddles and illusory puzzles that shift like smoke. The very walls seem to whisper ancient secrets, testing not just intelligence, but wisdom, intuition, and the strength to resist madness. Those who emerge with their sanity intact may find their perceptions of the world forever altered.
Requirements: Level 2, Solo
Description:
First you have a room with three doors. Behind one door there is death (DC 20 fortitude).
Behind the next door there is the challenge of fear, you need to see through an illusion of a Coloxus and lots of vermin (Will DC 20). The vermin provide the Coloxus a constant chance to flank. You may repeat the will saving throw as standard action.
The third room bears no dangers and leads directly to the Guardian.
You can do a DC 25 insight or knowledge architecture check, to figure out which door is safe. You can also do a survival check DC 25 to smell death behind one of the doors. For the Coloxos you need knowledge nobility (25) to figure out that the Coloxos smell is no ordinary parfume but from a mighty demon. If you have the scent ability you use perception DC 20 instead of survival and knowledge nobility.
After entering the trial you have to defeat the Guardian of the arena in a battle of wit. Search a few riddles online or determine knowledge areas at random and roll for success. If you give the correct answer as first guess within 30 seconds you succeed. Your opponent is a knowledge mummy that rolls knowledge with a +4 bonus. On a 20 they know the answer. Knowledge types are (arcana, planes, architecture and engineering, history, religion). Once there is a two point lead, the challenge is won."
