Shazak Bragh was once a famous Martial Hero in Sigil. He seeked fulfillnes in training. He wanted to make his body the perfect tool for fighting and he wanted to be the strongest for the sake of being strong. His Prowess with the sword was unparalelled and together with his companions he achieved great things. They retrieved the Khalar mindstone, they defeated Yalanak the destroyer, whom they imprisoned in the Wells of darkness and once saved an entire plane from being extinguished.

But with great Power comes great arrogance. One day Shazak and his friends angered Poranial the Soulcollector and instead of running and hiding which would be the wise choice they tried to face him head on. They quickly got defeated and their souls collected. Their souls where sold to the Homunculus Production facility where they were transfered into empty bodies. Shazak withstood the enchantmend that is put on all homunculuses upon creation and thus became worthless as a mindless soldier. He got quickly sold to the highest bidder (for a cheap price) who happened to be the dragon Klauth. Klauth thought it amusing to have someone strongminded and proud like Shazak in his possession. So he put Shazak into a stasis and added him to his hort.

There Shazak remained for a long time. He got angry, he regained his calm he turned to despair and finally became mad. But even madness can only kill so much time. After hundreds of years serving as a statue he finally regained his sanity and began doing what he did in his previous life. He trained. But being stripped of his own body and being left without the ability to move the only thing left to train was his mind. So he trained that, relentlessly concentrating it on himself, theorizing new techniques he could use and slowly developing psionic powers.

After training what seemed to be an eternity Klauth gave Shazak to the squad as a quide to the Wells of darkness. He lusts for the opportunity to test the powers of his mind even when the body he has to do so is not perfect.

Klauth then gave him to the squad as a replacement for Ti'rilliar whom he killed. A chance at freedom Shazak gladly took. But being a little bit lost at what his goals and motivation was after achieving freedom he volunteered to stay with Sammael and assist him in making a poison. He volunteered since he thought he didn't have anything to lose at this point anyways and talking to a powerful being might be the most exciting experience available to him at the moment.
