Bob was raised by some farmers near Critwall, who found him being left in front of their door as a newborn. It was not before his puberty that he realized, that he was in fact not a human but a changeling. Because he experienced his parents being full a prejudice against non-humans, he hid his true nature be everyone, become very cautious. Because of his intelligence and his diplomatic skills he managed to leave his parents farm, joining the mage academy of Critwall.

When the devil invasion in Grayhawk started, he was on an expedition in the Lowerworld, where he decided to join Berzogs Squad instead of returning home. In the Squad, he was appreciated because of his ability take out groups of enemies with one single spell as well as for his huge amount of knowledge. In the usual quarrels that occurred in the squad regularly he usually behaved diplomatic, rarely choosing a side.

During the fight against the General of Iuz Bob was slain by a horse charge while being flat-footed. After his death Aessadas and the followers of Athros left the squad they resurrected Bob, who agreed to serve Athros and accepted a quest of Athros to free Grayhawk from demons. He then stayed in the Cathedral of Insight which by that time had been occupied by Aetherdas, who renamed is Cathedral of Athros. During the fight between Atherdas and some members of the Thunder-T'chok-squad, Bob stayed passive and was later assigned to administrate the Cathedral which was soon after that occupied by a Cornugon, who shipped away all the books. When the squad returned, there was no trace on Bob. His fate stays uncertain.
