Years later Pete was a small time criminal stumbling through life with his companions Drask Rex and Orin Krag using the psionic powers he had since his youth to help him in his criminal ways. But he still dreamt of the good life he could lead if only he was a noble. His plan of achieving this goal was to become incredibly rich through any means and finding a broke noble and marrying his daughter.

Eventually he pulled of a pyramid scheme leaving him with a lot of money and a lot of enemies so he went of to Thay, where he found Bara Ghor one of the Red Mages who had become the target of schemes from his fellow red mages leaving him financially ruined. Pete and him came to the agreement that Pete could marry his daughter, become his heir and thus a noble of Thay. But when Bara Ghor found out about Petes psionic powers he furiously made him drink a poison suppressing those powers and made it the condition that pete learned to at least cast 3rd grade spells before he could marry into the Ghor family. So Pete visited mage school together with other adepts. But not being fond of hard work he quickly found out how to steal prepared spell slots from his classmates becoming a spellthief instead of a proper spellcaster.

This way he managed to pass all exams and to get married. But he soon realized all the duties of nobles together with all the scheming done in Thay were quite the opposite of the relaxed and wonderful life he always expected. Also the fact that his bride was not a beauty at all didn't help the case. So he planned to make his escape. But his father in law saw through those plans and made it pretty clear, that if he would do so it would bring shame upon the family since Pete had impregnated his wife and it would mean that Pete would be hunted until the end of the world.

Taking those words quite literally Pete stole one of Bara Ghors Charm spells, charmed him with it and made him hand over a Plane Shift scroll. With said scroll Pete left for another world namely Greyhawk, leaving behind a furious father in law and a pregnant wife.

There he instantly got caught by the Krakendogs. He was then saved by the Thunder-T'chock squad and joined them. He realized that a fun and exciting life is what he wants to live since he feels the best time in his life was the one where he was rich and running from the people he screwed over. So he stays with the squad since it doesn't get boring there.
