This brass mask is the semi sentient face of a adept wizard

This cursed mask is semi sentient. It can change its temperature and open or close its mouth and eyes as a primitive means of communication. If it closes its eyes, the wearer is blind and if it closes its mouth, the wearer cannot speak. It gives its wearer immunity to the Facemelter spell and adds scorching ray as a degree 2 spell to the wearers caster list. Furthermore it increases the wearers caster level by +4 for the scorching ray spell. However it considers wearers, which are unable to cast level 2 spells as unworthy and will shut its mouth. Wearers on the other hand that have access to degree 3 spells are regarded with envy by the mask and it will close its eyes.
