The ground erupts in a violent surge of rime and shattered ice. A spreading mantle of frost wraps itself around every creature in the blast, rooting them to the earth and locking their limbs in a glacial prison that splinters only when enough force is brought to bear.
You conjure a point of supercooled frost beneath the surface. The frost expands explosively, bursting upward as a mound of rime and earth.
Creatures in the area take 1d6 cold damage per level (maximum 10d6 each). A successful Fortitude save halves both damage types.
Creatures that fail their Fortitude saving throw are frozen solid to the terrain for one turn per level. A frozen creature counts as paralyzed and receives 5 shield points per caster level. When the shield points are gone, the freezing effect ends.
