Syllable of Dissolution
Level: 3
Duration: Instantaneous
Target: a creature
Save: Fortitude halves (normal)
Normal: When you speak the last syllable of the word of unmaking, you unmake a portion of a creature's physical essence, causing terrible wounds.
The target takes 1d6 points of damage per caster level. Any creature reduced to 0 or fewer hit points by this spell is entirely disintegrated, leaving behind only a trace of fine dust. A disintegrated creature’s equipment is unaffected. When used against an object, the ray simply disintegrates as much as a 10-foot cube of nonliving matter.
Reverse: When you speak the last syllable of the word of unmaking reversed, you reforge a creature's physical essence, causing its wounds to close.
The target regains 1d6 hit points per caster level. If you know the truename of the creature, it regrows missing body parts as if the regeneration spell was cast. This isn't a positive energy effect, so it works on undead and constructs.
Special: When all three syllables are spoken consecutively targeting the same creature, the creature must succeed a will saving throw or cannot be resurrected unless a ritual of renaming is performed first.
