Class Features
Proficiencies: The Speaker is proficient with light armor and simple weapons.
Utterances:
The Truenamer is able to speak utterances which are special intelligence based spell-like abilities.
- If not noted utterances have 18m range and can be spoken as a standard action. Like spell-like abilities, speaking utterances provoke attacks of opportunity and allow spell resistance.
- The truenamer may speak utterances known at will, however you can maintain only a single utterance active at a time, plus one additional per two levels.
- Most utterances allow to concentrate on an effect to keep it up. If the target moves out of range, the concentration is broken.
The Truenamer can choose only from the utterances on this website. The Lexicons Available to you are determined by his archetype.

Name Research:
Names hold immense power. Hence, knowing the true name of a creature gives you immense power over that creature. We will refer in the following text to the temporary true name as name and the permanent true name as true name. Neither has to do anything with the actual first, last and called name of the creature.
To obtain the name of a creature the truenamer have to adduce three pillars: The easiest way to obtain a pillar is to make the creature roll a saving throw against one of the truenamers abilities. That means not necessarily failing the saving throw(!). A pillar can only be created once per saving throw type and only once per turn. One pillar can be acquired with an appropriate knowledge check and research that happens before the encounter. That usually requires a library and 100sp of goods. All three pillars can be acquired at once when the truenamer finds out the true name of a creature through the course of the adventure you are playing. This should be a major part of the adventure. Names acquired through this ability are fluid and might change over time, especially when the creature undergoes changes of character. If you rely on old information to true name a creature consult with your DM if the name is still accurate. This is in contrast to true names which are usually permanent.
Law of Chorus:
The truenamer may concentrate on one utterance without having to spend a standard action for doing so each turn.
Knowledge focus:
The Truenamer gains a +2 bonus to all knowledge checks. The truenamer may learn recitation feats which require a truespeak ranks equal to your level +3 and they do not need to succeed a truenaming check to use them.
Knowledge Of Things:
A Truenamer gains the ability to augment the effect of any magical effect placed on them (be it from themselves, another caster, or a magic item such as a potion). Whenever they are targeted with a beneficial magical effect, doing so counts as having one more active utterance. The magical effect gains a bonus to its caster level equal to half the truenamers class level. In addition, resistance and enchantment bonuses are increased by 1 per three levels.
Surge of Speech:
While the truenamer has their maximum number of utterances activated, they may still speak utterances with instantaneous or permanent duration.
Ultimate Naming: The truenamer gains the ability to speak a particular powerful fourth level utterance that can be used 1/day, as appropriate for their archetype. Their speaker level is equal to their hit dice, and the DC of the spell, if applicable, is based on their Intelligence modifier.

Archetypes
Bereft
„Don't take existence for granted, it is a frail thing.“
The primary attribute of the Bereft is wisdom.
Lexicons: Lexicon of the Evolving Mind, Lexicon of the Crafted Tool, Word of Unmaking
Bonus Utterances:
Lesser Archetype Power: A bereft reduces any damage by their wisdom modifier and may use their will saving throws to compute critical armor class.
A Bereft's syllables do not count against the limit of active utterances for targets that are already affected by a non syllable utterance and share the concentration with the original effect.
Moderate Archetype Power: The bereft may exude an aura of dullness, that affects friends and foe alike:
Berefts can alter their personal truename at will as a standard action. Changing their truename frequently makes it harder to target them with conventional magic. This provides the Berefts 10 + 4 + their level + their intelligence modifier points of spell resistance until their resistance is successfully pierced. Altering the personal truename reactivates this kind of spell resistance.
Greater Archetype Power:
The Bereft may speak his Syllables as prefix of another non Syllable utterance that affects a single target. Doing so increases the time required to at least full-round action. However, the effect starts at the end of the Berefts turn. If the saving throw is the same type, e.g. both are will, the save is shared.
Feats: None.
Brimstone Speaker
„Burn in holy fire“
The primary attribute of the Brimstone Speaker is Charisma.
Lexicons: Lexicon of the Evolving Mind, Exalted Lexicon of Divine Spirit and Holy Words, Lexicon of the Perfected Map
Bonus Utterances:
Lesser Archetype Power: Echoes of the Holy Speaker cause the utterances of the Holyspeaker that have a duration of at least concentratration +1 turn to have a one turn longer duration. Furthermore, any fire damage dealt is increased by one die.
Moderate Archetype Power: Fire damage dealt by the Holy Speaker is holy damage. Apply improvements of fire damage to holy damage.
The Holy speaker can now try to summon multiple celestials at once with the Heavenly Entreaty utterance. Each additional summon counts against the maximum number of active utterances but not against concentration limits.
Greater Archetype Power:
The Holy Speaker can now decide to summon a Word Archon or a Legion Archon using Heavenly Entreaty, while doing so the duration is reduced to concentration + 0 turns. You can have only one heavenly envoy of each kind at a time.
In addition, all fire damage dealt by the Holy Speaker is maximized.
Feats: Burning Truth
Scholar
„Knowledge is power, and I know a lot“
The primary attribute of the scholar is intelligence.
Lexicons: Lexicon of the Evolving Mind, Lexicon of the Crafted Tool, Lexicon of the Perfected Map, Lexicon of Secret Knowledge
Bonus Utterances:
- 1: Universal Aptitude
- 2: Hidden Truth
- 3: Spell Rebirth
- 4: Any one of choice from the known lexicon.
A scholar has all knowledge skills as class skills.
Lesser Archetype Power: Scholars receive the rhetoric thesis feat as a bonus feat and learns two more utterances every odd level.
Moderate Archetype Power: A Scholar understands the duality of utterances a lot more and becomes a master of anagrams. When the scholar concentrates on the normal effect of an utterance, they count as concentrating on reverse effect of the same utterance at the same time and vice versa. It has to be exactly one normal and one reverse effect and casting of the effects is still separated.
The scholar only needs two pillars to acquire the temporary truename of a creature.
Greater Archetype Power: A Scholar may use speak unto the Masses, they can use the utterance with a duration of instantaneous on a number of creatures equal to their intelligence modifier, all have to be within 18m of the scholar.
Whenever the Scholar learns a rhethoric feat, they may choose two utterances to improve instead of one. This ability works retroactively on non archetype rhetoric feats.
Feats: None.
